Indian Institutes of Treachery?
IIT s- the ultimate dream destinations for all aspiring engineers in India. I tried to get into the IITs but failed quite miserably. That was a real sad moment for me. But now, I am with IITians in Stony Brook and somehow don't think that not being an IITian was such a big deal. One of my best friends here is an IITian. He always says that the knowledge you earn there is tremendous, but you spend four years of your life without making a true friend. The competition is so bad that people just avoid talking to each other, sharing tips regarding studies and so on. He called them back-stabbers. I contrast this with the times I spent in Sardar Patel, with my friends, sitting on benches studying together, calling each other up at 2:00 am with doubts, going to each others house and just singing amazing songs........ That is what college life should be like. Maybe it is a "Grapes are sour" thing, maybe it is not. All I would like to stress on is life is not just about studies, rleationships are important too. So study hard, but not at the cost of losing friends.
